1971 Volvo 164

Drove her 8 miles from storage to my parents house, even with the rear carburetor not quite up to snuff she cruised along smoothly.  I was a bit worried about the tires and brakes for the first mile.  Actually I still am worried about the tires and brakes but it was overheating a bit on the way back and when I parked it at my folks the coolant was boiling into the overflow reservoir.  I put in a new thermostat and still the same issue.  Tonight I will probably try flushing the system and putting in new coolant.  I have a coolant temp sensor on order from IPD that should be here this week too.  If I can get the voltage regulator issue fixed on the dashboard (looks like there’s a fix for it here) then the fuel gauge should start working too.  Speedo seems OK – if a bit on the slow side.
